Jin is originally from Xinjiang, China. She graduated from medical school and worked as a radiation oncologist in China before deciding to move to the United States in 2001. Jin joined the Brown lab in 2005. In her spare time she enjoys crocheting and playing with her dog, Buttons Jr.
