Tao Zhang, Ph.D.

Postdoctoral Fellow

Tao comes from Shandong, China. He completed his undergraduate at Shanxi Agricultural University majoring in Biotechnology. In 2013, he joined Prof. Junying Miao’s lab to study cell apoptosis and autophagy at Shandong University. In 2016, he went to Shanghai Institute of Nutrition and Health, Chinese Academy of Sciences, to pursue his Ph. D. under the supervision of Prof. Yufang Shi. In Prof. Shi’s lab, Tao received systemic training in stem cells and tumor immunity. In 2022, Tao joined Prof. Brown’s lab, and is interested in exploring the reciprocal cross-talk between tumor cells and immune cells. In his spare time, Tao enjoys playing basketball and table tennis.​
